چکیده

The Randolph Co. model 610 peristaltic, (1/8)-hp pump was effective for preparative purposes in disrupting baker's yeast and spores of Bacillus globigii when suspended with glass beads. Best results were obtained with use of a slurry just fluid enough to flow through tubing while stirred. Beads of 0.2 and 0.1 mm were used to best advantage for the yeast cells and spores, respectively. Yeast cells were disrupted completely within 15 min, and the spores in 10 to 30 min. Temperature and surface denaturation are readily controlled, and the system is easily modified for use with large quantities of microorganisms.

In-Vitro Red Blood Cells Integrity and Morphology Changes after Passing Through Volumetric Peristaltic Infusion Pump

Background: It is not clear whether the use of volumetric peristaltic infusion pumps, affect the quality of the erythrocytes during packed cell transfusion or not. In the present study in vitro quality of red blood cells was assessed after using this type of infusion pumps in a prospective study. Materials and Methods: In this study 60 units of packed red cells were examined before and after p...

Dynamic simulation of a peristaltic micropump considering coupled fluid flow and structural motion

This paper presents lumped-parameter simulation of dynamic characteristics of peristaltic micropumps. The pump consists of three pumping cells connected in series, each of which is equipped with a compliant diaphragm that is electrostatically actuated in a peristaltic sequence to mobilize the fluid. Diaphragm motion in each pumping cell is first represented by an effective spring subjected to h...

Surface micromachined electrostatically actuated micro peristaltic pump.

An electrostatically actuated micro peristaltic pump is reported. The micro pump is entirely surface micromachined using a multilayer parylene technology. Taking advantage of the multilayer technology, the micro pump design enables the pumped fluid to be isolated from the electric field. Electrostatic actuation of the parylene membrane using both DC and AC voltages was demonstrated and applied ...

Design and Fabrication of a Pump for Peristaltic Flow of variable viscosity fluids

Due to the widespread use of peristaltic pumps in the pharmaceutical industries, manufacturers are searching for new type of pumping machines, based on the mathematical models. Researchers have predicted the results of peristaltic transport in many applications mathematically and failed to interpret the results. One of the reasons is the difficulties faced in generation of peristaltic transport...
